July 2020: Sulitest at the High Level Political Forum and our report

Published
7/1/2020

For the 5th consecutive year, Sulitest is present at the United Nations High Level Political Forum!

The HLPF is the central platform for monitoring and reviewing progress on the SDGs and brings together members of governments, academic institutions, civil society and other key stakeholders. Usually held at the United Nations headquarters, this year it is being held online.

For this global event, we have prepared our annual report and co-organized two events, and we would like to invite you to join us! For this HLPF, Sulitest has released its 4th annual report,"Raising and Mapping Awareness of the Global Goals." It summarizes global trends and indicators of awareness of the 17 SDGs based on the results of last year's Core International module. It also highlights Sulitest's developing and currently available tools and initiatives. Download the report

Events at HLPF

On Wednesday, the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative ( HESI), in which Sulitest is an active member, will explore how we can rethink higher education for the future and understand the impact of the pandemic on higher education.

On Thursday, Sulitest is co-hosting an event alongside the Japanese government's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the Center for Sustainable Development, Earth Institute, at Columbia University.

We will announce the creation of the ODD14 module by Sulitest - UN DESA with the support of Mercator Ocean International, by launching the working group that will bring together different actors involved in the Ocean theme (researchers, practitioners, decision makers...) who will create a set of questions for this specialized module.

A Test Module on Oceans SDG 14

Following the creation of a Quiz module on Biodiversity, supported by a group of experts from various organizations, Sulitest is delighted to launch the working group that will develop a Test module on SDG 14, focused on the theme of oceans!

This module will provide a unique opportunity to collect data on ocean awareness among decision makers and, more broadly, among citizens. Upcoming events are building momentum for ocean discussions, such as Our Oceans 2020 (December 7-8, Palau) and the supporting work of the UN Special Envoy for the Oceans.

Analysis and discussion of the initial data available will shed light on the links and gaps between concepts, challenges, and understanding of ocean-related issues. These results could be presented at the United Nations Ocean Conference and provide important information.

We hope you will join us in reading our report and attending these events!
